HELLO!
My name is Crystal von Oy and I am the owner of Shimmer and Share. I love things that shimmer and make people smile. My wish is that you find something in my store to make you or someone else smile - even if you don't buy anything. As a professional seamstress, I make a lot of custom costumes for cosplay as well as clothing for daily use and special occasions for myself. I also love to craft and experiment with resin. So far I make jewelry and keychains, but hope to expand!
My Story
Once upon a time I was born. From that moment I decided I would never grow up and live life for fun! As a younger child, I was always fascinated and amazed by the magical theme parks in Orlando. Eventually, I would become a cast member at the most magical place on earth. Throughout my journey, my life has been sprinkled with some wonderful friends and family. I have a wonderful, caring, and EXTREMELY patient husband who drives me crazy, but treats me like royalty. Our only child is Kenny Roo Doodle. If his name didn't already imply it, he's a Golden Doodle. He's actually named after the mascot of one of my favorite amusement parks, Kennywood. As a lover of rides, roller coasters, kangaroos, and historic places, it's one of my favorite places to visit. I find it quirky, fun, and inspiring.

Throughout my life, I have looked to stories to find inspiration and guidance. In fact, there are two fictional characters whom I love very dearly, are very different in personality, and are very relatable to me. One of my favorite characters of all time is the Fairy Godmother from the classic tale of Cinderella. She is one of the most admirable women I can think of because her whole reason for living is to improve the lives of others. She brings hope and smiles to others and that is something I wish to do. I express my love through giving gifts and love to see people's faces light up when they receive a gift from me.

The other character who I love and admire so much is The Mad Hatter from Wonderland. He is a silly guy who was driven to madness from being stuck in a perpetual time loop. While he could simply give up on life, he instead finds the fun in each moment. He spends each and every day with closest friends and together they find joy in their otherwise monotonous existence by celebrating their Un-birthday. Many of us often get caught up in the struggles and monotony of life - I certainly do sometimes. Like the Mad Hatter, I rely on the people I'm close to in the search for happiness. Finding those moments of joy together always seem to make tomorrow worth living.
